Self-exclusion

If you think you are spending too much time or money gambling in an adult gaming centre, then ask staff for information about their self-exclusion scheme. Self-exclusion is when you can ask a gambling company or operator to stop you from gambling with them for an amount of time. It usually lasts for at least six months and up to 12 months.

It is mainly used by people who think they have a problem with gambling and want help to stop. It is up to you to stick to a self-exclusion agreement with an adult gaming centre, but the operator should help you do that.

Licensees must offer customers with whom they enter into a self-exclusion agreement the ability to self-exclude from the same kind of gambling offered in their locality by any other holder of an operating licence to whom this provision applies, by participating in one or more available multi-operator self-exclusion schemes.

Members and staff receive guidance and training in helping those who need it. It is important that you understand the terms of self-exclusion so please read the following very carefully.

You can choose to self-exclude for a period of between 6 months and 12 months. The self-exclusion period can be extended for one or more further periods of at least 6 months each. Once you have chosen to self-exclude it will come into force immediately.

At the end of the self-exclusion period you will remain excluded unless you contact the operator in person. If the exclusion is lifted, it will be subject to a 24 hour cooling off period.

Self-exclusion will prevent you from entering the operators premises staff are trained to enforce the exclusion.

ONCE YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO SELF EXCLUDE THIS CANNOT BE LIFTED UNTIL THE END OF THE SELECTED PERIOD.

You can still self-exclude from a single premise if you wish. If you do self-exclude using the multi operator scheme you will need to provide a photograph of yourself to the operator or allow the operator to take one. You will also have to agree, by signing a set of Terms and Conditions, that your photograph and other details can be shared with other operators so that they can exclude you from their premises too.

If you have any questions at all about self-exclusion please call bacta self-exclusion services limited on this number 0207 730 6444.
