Primary Gambling Activity

The Gambling Commission has commenced a series of licence reviews on the basis that the Commission believes that insufficient facilities for the activity on the name of the licence, i.e. betting are being offered when compared to revenue from gaming machines.
BACTA has taken leading Counsel's advice, which indicates that the Commission is wrong in law and has made a submission to the Commissioners, DCMS and leading politicians.
It raises again the problem of inequality of entitlement to offer B2 machines which needs to be addressed.
BACTA is seeking parity with bookmakers. BACTA will fight on behalf of its members to protect their licences and ensure that regulation is fair and proportionate.
