Identification and treatment of SWPs
The Gambling Commission and HMRC have made a joint statement on the identification and treatment of SWPs.
If anyone has a concern regarding a specific product they should refer to the joint statement and contact both HMRC (Helen Smith: helen.smith1@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk and Andy Grimsley: andy.grimsley@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk or tel: 0161 827 0330) and the Commission (Stuart McPhee: s.mcphee@gamblingcommission.gov.uk or James Holdaway: j.holdaway@gamblingcommission.gov.uk or tel: 0121 230 6719) before taking any action.
It would be prudent to ensure that if you are uncertain about any changes that you or a manufacturer believe are necessary, that you receive written confirmation from both HMRC and the Commission that this action is sufficient to address any concerns that either regulator might have.
